Was this really necessary?
Bill Clinton has said that Donald Trump is one of his favorite “fictional” presidents. During a segment called “Ask a President” on CBS’s “The Late Late Show” on Wednesday night, Clinton was asked about some of his favorite film and TV characters to have occupied the Oval Office.
“Oh man, there’ve been so many good ones,” Clinton said. He continued by including many actors, including Tony Goldwyn, who played President Fitzgerald Grant on “Scandal,” and Martin Sheen, who played President Josiah Bartlet on “The West Wing.”
“I liked Michael Douglas. I loved Harrison Ford,” he added.
“And Morgan Freeman. And Donald Trump.” This reply got many audience members as well as host James Corden laughing.
Clinton has widely criticized Trump who in 2016 defeated his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in the presidential race.
In fact, during the 2020 Democratic National Convention, Bill Clinton had mentioned how Trump viewed his job as president as “spending hours a day watching TV and zapping people on social media.”
“Denying, distracting, and demeaning works great if you’re trying to entertain and inflame. But in a real crisis, it collapses like a house of cards,” Clinton had added.
