NAACP leader Michelle Leete recently stood outside the Jackson Middle School in Fairfax County, Virginia to rally protesters and declare “let them die” about parents fighting against Critical Race Theory. She denounced individuals as “anti-equity” and said that these uncomfortable people should not deter them from their own march forward. Footage of her speaking was captured by Asra Nomani, who leads the anti-CRT group Parents Defending Education.
“Let’s deny this off-key band of people that are anti-education, anti-teacher, anti-equity, anti-history, anti-racial … anti-opportunities, anti-help people, anti-diversity, [inaudible], anti-science, anti-change agent, anti-social justice, anti-healthcare, anti-worker, anti-LGBTQ+, anti-children, anti-healthcare, anti-worker, anti-environment, anti-admissions policy change, anti-inclusion, anti-live and let live – let them die!” Leete said.
While her speech received a round of applause, critics addressed what she said as a “shock” and claimed that we must be better examples for young people and all people. The Fairfax County Public Schools declined a request for comment but said that the FCPC prides itself on being an “inclusive and positive organization” and that it is not their place to comment on the remarks made by an individual outside of their organization.
The Virginia PTA released a statement expressing their own concern about the “disturbing choice of words” used by a board member at a public event. They said that the statement does not reflect the values of Virginia PTA and that these individuals “disqualify themselves with their words and deeds.”
Leete recently resigned from her position of Vice President of Training at the Virginia PTA but is still the Vice President of the Fairfax NAACP and the Vice President of Communications for the Fairfax County PTA. The Fairfax NAACP and the Fairfax County PTA have yet to release comments about the incident.
“Today, the Virginia PTA executive committee requested and received the resignation of Michelle Leete, who served as Vice President of Training,” a statement from the Virginia PTA reads.
Virginia PTA said they will not speak in Leete’s role to the organization but that they don’t condone the choice of words used in her recent public event. They said they believe in diversity, equity, and inclusion but know that words have power and it is important to understand the impact of our language.
“The actions & rhetoric of Ms. Leete & all of the like-minded partisan supporters of the SB are deeply disappointing. It evinces a deep lack of concern for children & parents, particularly where the wellbeing of children & families clash with political considerations,” a tweet reads accompanying the released statement.
PTA board members will have to participate in sensitivity training this summer to ensure that they remain mindful of the community and the impact of the words they use.
This isn’t the first time Fairfax County Public School systems are being infiltrated by ‘woke’ members. Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, one of the best high schools in the country, recently canceled its admissions test after receiving complaints that too many Asian students were being accepted.
Leete’s resignation comes as other parents across the nation have gone viral denouncing the Critical Race Theory curriculum. One mother in New York told the school board to stop teaching “communist lessons” and indoctrinating our children. She told them to stop teaching children to hate the police and that if they don’t agree with the LGBT community then they’re homophobic.
It’s not a surprise that Leete is stepping down from her roles considering she yelled “let them die” outside of a middle school, the exact type of place you really don’t need adults saying things like this.
It’s simple – stop pushing far-left agendas into education. Parents want educated students, not brainwashed political kids who can’t figure out their own gender, take a joke, and think everything is racist. How a child is raised is up to the parents, not the teachers. When did we move away from reading, writing, and arithmetic?
